Metric designation
So you own a Grand Vitara with 235/60R16 tyres. But what do those numbers mean? It is the metric designation and it is constructed like this: <A> / <B> R <C> with: A = Width of the tyre in millimetres [mm]. B = Height to width ratio [%]. C = Diameter of the rim in inches ["].

Given that 1 inch equals 25,4 mm, you can calculate the total height of the tyre using H ["] = (2 * (A * B/100) / 25,4) + C or H [mm] = 2 * (A * B/100) + (C * 25,4)
